LOCTITE® Thread Sealants vs. Conventional Methods

LOCTITE® vs. thread tape

The lubricating properties of thread tape may allow for closer fitting of threaded pipe joints. However, it does not eliminate all the gaps which LOCTITE can fill completely.

LOCTITE® vs. thread paste

Pipe thread paste dries up to form a seal between pipe joint threads. However, it shrinks while drying and may not fully eliminate the gaps which LOCTITE can fill completely.

Metal parts

For metal threaded connections, general-purpose thread sealants such as LOCTITE 567 are recommended. 

LOCTITE 567 is an off-white, UL approved, low disassembly strength methacrylate thread sealant.

Hydraulic fittings
